Dimensions: 48.3 x 14.3 cm. - Indian ink on thick drawing board - Signed
Frank Dickens (1931-2016) was a world famous English cartoonist, best known for his series “Bristow”, that appeared for as long as 51 years in “the Evening Standard”.
This makes Bristow the longest-running daily comic worldwide illustrated by one cartoonist (listed in the Guinness Book of Records).
Dickens received eight awards for "Stripcartoonist of the Year” from the Cartoonists' Club of Great Britain.
The comic was spread all over the world.
Starting from 1966, many book editions appeared of this comic.
Before it was published in “the Evening Post”, it appeared in various regional newspapers. The Strip was edited for “the Evening Post” edition from 1965. Texts were overlaid with other texts.
The strip presumably originates from before 1962, because that is when the strip began appearing in the Evening Post.
This strip is in very good condition. Frame lines have not been covered. Texts are not overlaid and original. And signed. Even the title is, unlike with other strips, completely original and drawn in Indian ink.
This word-famous cartoon will be packed carefully and sent by registered mail.
