This is a hand-knotted Kazak runner, made of durable and natural materials. Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this carpet unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
Kazakh rugs are knotted in the south-west of the Caucasus. Kazakh rugs are knotted in a relatively loose fashion. They are supple and knotted with good-quality wool, which ensures a high durability.
Kazakh rugs often have bold colours and the patterns are geometrical and large.
This is a used runner, which has become more beautiful and characteristic through the natural ageing process.
