Dual turntable with amplifier type HS130/1224 with pitch control in mint condition
This automatic Dual turntable with built-in amplifier and speaker boxes, from 1974.
On the front are seven control knobs, for function, volume, low, high, balance, stereo/quad and on/off. With the Stereo/Quad knob you can select Stereo, Quad I, Quad II or 2 x Stereo.
On the right side of the deck is the slider to set the turntable speed, on the left is the pitch control. It also has an arm lift and a start button.
The shown models are stereo record players, it is as yet unclear whether the 4-channel version of the HS130 ever got off the ground. It has pseudo quadraphonic sound in the Quad I and Quad 2 settings. In addition to a version with a transistor amplifier, the HS130 also came with an IC amplifier.
Dual derived from the 19th century clock maker company from the Steidinger family in St. Georgen in the Black Forest. In 1907, Josef Steidingen founded a new company "Gebrüder Steidinger, Fabrik für Feinmechanik". The company creates gramophone springs, amongst other things. In 1911, Josef quits the company and founds the "PERPETUUM Schwarzwälder Federmotoren und Automatenwerke". In 1927, 1500 gramophone springs per day were produced. A new drive unit was designed by Emile Knecht in which an electric motor propels a spring motor, the so-called DUAL motor. Further developed under the leadership of Herman Papst. An electric headshell was also developed, so that the Dual gramophone was born in 1937. In 1949, Dual introduces the record changer model 1000 on the Berliner Funkausstellung.
