This beautiful carpet, an original Bukhara from Pakistan, also known as Kashmir, has been hand-knotted, on cotton weave, with naturally coloured and very thick Cashmere wool threads (about 800.00 knots per square meter), which makes it not only resilient, but also uniquely soft and glossy.
Depending on the angle at which the carpet is observed, the excellent colour pattern might look different.
The Bukhara carpets from Pakistan are among the most famous in the world. Their classic design, based on the regular repetition of Gül ("Persian rose" - a name given to various flower motifs) models surrounded by a wide and rich frame of decorated edges, is a wonderful example of balance and harmony of shapes and decorations.
The Bukhara are timeless. Their design stayed practically the same through the centuries, but they are always current and suited to both classic and modern styles.
Today, the production of these carpets even employs the same materials and techniques used centuries ago.
