Erik Bauknecht (1929-1993)

Was born in Davos, Switzerland, as the son of German expressionistic painter and woodcarver Philipp Bauknecht. Like his father, Bauknecht created a body of work that was overpowering by its strength and intense use of colour.
He lived and worked in his studio at the Albert Cuypstraat, which was once Mondriaan’s studio. Opposing the trendy metropolitan art climate, Bauknecht stuck to his naturalistic painting style. He was a member of the well-known artist group De Ploeg. Like his father, Erik Bauknecht died at a relatively young age. He was 64 years old when he died in his studio.

It’s not possible to sent a painting to a foreign adress safe-loket that way, unless in a crate by special courier which costs a lot more than the painting. For that reason paintings are always sent this way, also by the painters themselves. This was made clear by no transport costs. Otherwise that would have been around 300-400 euro’s, which makes selling to other countries impossible. It will cost very little to have it put back on.
