Set of very good sounding rare Goodmans 3 way system speakers from the type The Havant from the year 1971
This is a set of very rare Goodmans 3 way system speakers of the type The Havant that are rarely offered, this beautiful vintage set of speakers is from the year 1971.
You can connect the speakers from the amplifier with so-called bare cable but it is also possible to connect the loudspeakers with a 2 pin DIN plug.
The famous very beautiful sound from this Goodmans vintage speakers is admirable even if they only have a maximum power of 20 watts.
The speaker cloth is somewhat wrinkled but that is not really disturbing. One of the speaker cloths also has some small cracks nut that is also not disturbing.
The rubber edges around the woofers are in perfect condition, so no cracks or something similar and this after more than 45 years.
These are speakers for quiet/normal music so not for trance/house or similar bad music.
The dust covers are fixed to the cabinets with velcro in a way as if they seem to float in front of the cabinets, this is quite special (see picture 15).
This is a wonderful good sounding set of vintage Goodmans The Havant speakers that would be an asset to every set of vintage hifi equipment because of the wonderful sound they produce.
These so-called wooden cabinet speakers are highly sensitive, a (vintage) amplifier with a not too high power will definitely bring them alive in a normal and calm manner.
As you can see from the pictures of the back of the speakers (picture 13), these Goodmans speakers were fixed to wall brackets in the past.
I have included a free set of professional Vogel’s wall brackets because you might want to do the same. The value is €30 but you will get them for free (see the last 2 pictures).
The photos of the loudspeakers are made in daylight and late at night in light of halogen lamps.
The dimensions of the speakers are:
Height 48 cm.
Width 26.5 cm.
Depth (with dust cover) 25.5 cm.
Weight per speaker is 8.5 kilos, so 7 kg for both (without packaging material).
