The first Sumo broke records by weight and dimensions. Taschen’s most expensive publication ever created. This new (2009) more compact version, carefully revised by Jane Newton, still is a huge book in every respect: a spectacular tribute to the 20th century’s most influential, intriguing, and controversial photographer of the 20th century, with hundreds of exquisite images, from his stunning fashion shoots to his shimmering nudes, provocative mise-en-scènes, and celebrity portraits.

Helmut Newton (1920 - 2004) was one of the most influential photographers of all time. In the 70s he gained international fame mainly by working for French Vogue. He was renowned for his controversial scenarios, bold lighting, and striking compositions in public or private settings, rather than in studios. He acquired many honors and awards including 'Commandeur de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

Never been used. Outside and inside (cover and pages) in absolute mint condition. No creases, dog ears, scratches or otherwise. Comes in its original cardboard casing. including plexiglass/perspex book stand and booklet about 'The making of Helmut Newton’s Sumo’.

Hardcover, multilingual edition: English, French, German. Dimensions: 26.7 x 37.4 cm, 464 pages. Weight: 7,2 kg. ISBN 978-3-8365-1730-0
