Willy van der Putt - Drie figuren

Wilhelmina Johanna Maria Theresia van der Putt, also known as Willy Slegers - van der Putt (Eindhoven, January 19, 1925 – Eindhoven June 17, 1997) was a Dutch sculptor. I have named the sculpture “Three figures”, I don’t know the original title, it could also be three playing children, probably a commissioned piece. Dimensions: 19 x 14 x 8 cm. Weight: 2188 grams. Condition: very good, see the photos, they are an integral part of the description. This lot will be shipped quickly and very well packed. Biography: Willy van der Putt, daughter of Harry van der Putt (the Mayor of Geldrop who was arrested in March 1945, and died in July 1945 in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp), studied sculpture after WWII at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam under the sculptor Wessel Couzijn, amongst others. She was also trained by the French sculptor Ossip Zadkine in his studio in Paris and married the sculptor Toon Slegers from Mierlo. The artist lived and worked in Bergeijk until her death in 1997.
