Le Château les Carmes Haut Brion est situé comme ses voisins, les châteaux Haut Brion et la Mission Haut Brion sur le fameux plateau de Graves, à la sortie sud-ouest de Bordeaux, à Pessac. De 1584 à 1789, il fut la propriété des Religieux Grands Carmes qui firent la réputation de ce cru. Devenu bien national à la révolution, il appartint à la famille Chantecaille pendant près d'un siècle. A l'image de l'inauguration de son nouveau chai signé Starck, Les Carmes Haut Brion affiche clairement son ambition depuis sont rachat en 2010 par Patrice Pichet et sa femme Diane. Il s'agit peut-être du cru de Pessac-Léognan le plus dynamique lors des dernières années. Ce cru non-classé est totalement atypique, notamment par la part qu'il accorde au cabernet franc dans son assemblage (45%). Le vin est désormais sublime, mûr et gourmand. Un cru à suivre de très près par les amateurs.

Ce petit vignoble de 4 hectares, dont l'age moyen est de 30 ans, produit un vin présentant des arômes riches, denses et harmonieux. Très agréable, il est fin et élégant et offre une belle robe rubis foncé. La bouche est mûr; pleine et gourmande.
