Beautiful engraving, although in a late edition (19th century), on laid paper, with wide margins, in excellent condition (see photos).
The image depicts the triumph of Mordecai, Biblical character close to the Persian King Ahasuerus.
The dignitary makes his entrance on horseback surrounded by a crowd of characters, probably both Persians and Jews paying homage. The scene is framed within the architectural background of the walls of the city of Susa.
