Signed RB for Ron Brinkman.
Ron Brinkman was born in Zaandijk in 1952, in the middle of the famous brackish water peatlands.
This area, rich in birds and special plants, quickly drew his attention.
He wandered around in this area since he was 14, which led to his 1974 book ‘Nog leeft dit polderland,
zwerftochten door het Westzijderveld”. From the moment he was caught by the birdwatching virus,
he drew and painted everything that came in front of his binoculars. His education as an advertising and decoration painter
came in handy. After this education, he worked as a colour specialist at an art printer with
important clients, such as the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Hermitage.
In his column for a regional weekly, he enthusiastically wrote
about his area of birth for years.
With intervals, he mainly painted birds. He has returned painting in his studio daily as of two years.
Since last year, his work has been freely available on the market. His extensive colour knowledge, colour memory,
brush skills and long-time experience in the field are combined successfully in his work.
