This beautiful lamp, that has been restored with great attention to detail, was designed by the French engineer Jean-Louis Domecq, commissioned by Jieldé, and was mainly used as a work light in work shops. What makes this Jieldé lamp so unique is its hinge point. Normally, a loose cord will be used in these pivoting lamps, often causing rubbing and breakage at the hinge points. In the 1950s, the French engineer devised a safe, reliable and patented alternative where copper rings were placed in the hinge points. These rings conduct the electricity, so wire damage will not occur.
This beautiful 5-armed lamp by Jieldé is an original piece from 1950 with the riveted first production label with the map of France and the beautiful brushed stainless steel/graphite look, and will fit into every vintage, modern or industrial interior. The maximum height of the lamp is 230 cm. This lamp has a lamp shade which is free of dents, and a perfectly round and unpleated handle, which is very exceptional. Besides, the bottom of the foot is equipped with felt to prevent corrosion spots on the floor and other damage. These lamps are hardly ever or never finished with such a high-grade finish.
Absolutely a rare, 100% undamaged top piece!
