SKY WATCHER PRO SERIES ED 120/900 REFRACTOR TELESCOPE

NEW, UNUSED. THE PHOTOS ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. PROVIDED WITH A 2’’ DIAGONAL PRISM AND A 20 MM 1 1/4’’ EYEPIECE. This refractor is well corrected for chromatic aberration and is an ideal telescope for high-contrast planetary observing. It is also a 'fast' ED apochromat, well suited to astrophotography. With its 120 mm aperture and 900 mm focal length, this doublet lens ED telescope gives an excellent image and collects around 290 times more light than the naked eye alone (with a fully dilated exit pupil of 7 mm). The use of FPL-53 ED glass reduces visible chromatic aberration to virtually zero. ED (Extra low Dispersion) glass has very low colour dispersion and a low refractive index. Star clusters appear especially aesthetically pleasing in this refractor, with stars in the image often coming extremely close to being 'pin sharp'. In conjunction with an optional field flattener, it provides a sharp image across the entire field of view, and the 'fast' f7.5 aperture ratio is useful for photography as exposures can be kept very short despite the focal length. The telescope can also be used on smaller mounts as the relationship between aperture and OTA length means it only exerts a low leverage effect. Together with the appropriate accessories, the refractor can also be used as a powerful spotting scope for a wide range of nature watching AND OTHER applications. The OTA is also visually a real gem, featuring an elegant design for the both OTA and finder scope in an aesthetically pleasing shimmering black. The white dew shield and tube ring clamps are a stylish contrast in the overall design.
