Talbot - Samba cabrio - 1983

Fiery, rare and unusual little car, the Talbot Samba Convertible, nearly 1,400 cc engine with 80 HP. This Samba was built in 1983 and is in decent condition. The 235,000 km is for this solid engine is not remarkably high. Of course, there is work to do. This car with dormant registration (last periodic vehicle inspection was in 2007) is a nice project for restoration. The linen roof is reasonable (piece missing, see photo), the bottom requires welding, the exhaust manifold leaks. Hence the low price. The exhaust itself is new, as well as the battery and a new fuel pump. Condition of the paint / bodywork (a few spots) and the interior (signs of wear) is reasonable, some work required as a restoration project but it’s all doable. The (original alloy) wheels and the tyres are good. Virtually complete. The mechanical components function properly: the steering, the engine (starts and runs neatly), the clutch, the 5-speed gearbox, the drive, the brakes. The car needs a serious overhaul and then it’s ready to go again for a long time. Provided he (or is a Samba a she?) is maintained regularly and properly. She is, after all, is 34 years old. Documents: Dutch. This vehicle can be viewed and possibly picked up in Waalwijk. We always recommend that, as a serious bidder you need to know what you’re buying. We strive to give you as clear a picture as possible with many photos and extensive text, describing the condition of the vehicle. But vintage vehicles are often 25 to over 60 years old, we don’t have x-ray vision and may have missed something. We can take care of transport to EU countries at cost through specialised transport companies. You can also arrange for the company in Roosendaal Catawiki advertises on its website.
