René Groebli: The Eye of Love Extremely rare English first edition! German edition: Das Auge der Liebe. Limited to only 300 pieces! Paperback (as issued) with dust jacket, approx. 215 x 300 mm, 18 pages, 25 photos by René Groebli, published by Press Centre Ltd. for PHOTOGRAPHY, 9-10 Old Bailey London EC4 in 1953, the then 26 year old Swiss photographer and his wife Rita are on honeymoon in Paris. They spend 2 weeks in the Nouvel Hotel in the artistic quarter of Montparnasse, where Groebli photographed his wife. The artist couple makes a selection of 25 of the photos, and in 1954 the self-published photographic love poem "Das Auge der Liebe" resulted from that. Condition: Inside nice and clean and without major flaws, dust jacket with traces of wear, the transparent dust jacket exists, but with flaws. Brilliant photo book classic! Collector’s copy.
