The clock movement is only winded up once a month (31 Days). The clock and the chiming clock (with gong), are winded up with a key and work perfectly well. The chiming clock rings every half-hour and rings the number of strokes corresponding to the specified time for hours: a small adjustment may be required when restarting the chiming clock (the number of strokes for hours might need to be reset).
