In excellent condition
Wonderful church fountain basin in Carrara Calacatta marble, with a beautiful open-mouthed fish carved on the front. It dates back to 1900 circa and comes from an antique church in Venice. This item is composed of two parts, both intact, as shown in the pictures. Please note the ribbed decoration under the basin, obtained by sculpting and working the marble by hand. The fish has even a greater value, because it was made with great skill and excellent workmanship, that add value and prestige to the fountain.
A special and unique piece, rare for its beauty and in particular for the integrity of its parts.
From a private collection. The Carrara marble is one of the finest and precious marbles. The shape of the basin is not perfectly rectangular but has a wavy front.
Excellent workmanship, fine and elegant, perfect and intact in all its parts.
In case of shipping, it will be delivered in a wooden crate, with appropriate packaging.
