Hebdomas - 8 giorni - orologio da tasca da uomo - Men - 1950-1959

HEBDOMAS watch, 8-day charge pocket watch model. An absolute must-have watch for the collection of any antique watch enthusiast. Made in 'Art Nouveau' style in the mid 20th century by the Swiss manufacturers founded in 1888 in La Chaux de Fonds, a small company that became famous for its classic movement with visible balance wheel, but especially for the duration of the watch's charge, thanks to a very large winding spring inserted in the barrel that takes up almost all the width of the watch case. The full name of the company was Hebdomas Schild S. A. The patent was filed by Iréné Aubry of Saignelégier (Switzerland), on 14 November 1888. The name comes from the Greek and later Latin word for WEEK, which is HEBDOMAS. Mechanical movement with visible balance wheel, whose reliability and strength made this type of watch famous and popular. This watch, with some slight modifications, was also produced in wristwatch version for over 70 years. The dial is ceramic with a gilt lily in relief. (Note that from 1965 they all have the same flower, a small rose, on the dial). Dimensions: Diameter: approx. 40 mm excluding crown and pendant. Thickness: 12.5 mm. Total watch weight: approx. 70 g. The watch is in perfect working order and in very good condition. (There are some signs of wear on the case opening) - chain included. See photos for details. Tracked and insured shipping, carefully packaged.
