Copper advertising door knocker "Met Peynen DVE De Weerelt 1567" - ca. 1900. Attached to a slice of wood. Origin: Belgium Peynen DVW De Weerelt is a brand unknown to me. I presume it was a brand was for coals, possibly used at the main office or dependences of Peynen DVW De Weerelt. Heavy cast antique copper door knocker with beautifully ornamented form of a nice logo in which a man carries a bag of coals. The door knocker is attached to a beautiful piece of wood so it can be easily exhibited in, for example, a display cabinet. The door knocker can be easily removed from the plank and reinstated to fulfil its original function on your front door. This is a real antique door knocker and not a reproduction. This is visible, for instance, on the inside of the knocker. Dimensions 17 cm x 13 cm x 2.5 cm. Door knocker with presentation board (33 x 23 x 4 cm) weighs approx. 1.5 kg together (with board).
