Carl Zeiss Jena Deltrintem 8x30
Thelegendary binoculars made in the eastern Germany: the Zeiss Jena. Optically it was the best device offered in the Communist bloc.
The binoculars was a small classic instrument with an achromatic lens (a twisted pair glued in flint rings and glass) and Porro prisms type I, with air between them. Like for the eyepiece, they decided to use a Koenig wide angle system (68 degrees) consisting of four elements but placed in just two groups (3+1).
The original optical structure of the 8x30 models included 10 air-glass surfaces.
Weight: approximately 475 g.
