Offered here is a beautiful and large two-sided ammolite specimen. The colourful ammolite specimen measures approximately 21cm. X 15cm at it's largest dimensions and 3cm thick at its thickest point.

This is a large piece of the keel from a large Placenticeras ammonite. It displays excellent colours on both sides of the specimen. The first side is primarily blue, purple and green but has flashes of golds and oranges present as well. This side has excellent play of colours and flashes throughout.

The second side is primarily green but has flashes of colour from the full spectrum on the surface,. It also has excellent play of colours and flashes throughout. Both sides possess quite a lot of ammolite on the rare end of the spectrum and possesses quite a lot of "fire". It has a very smooth surface.

This specimen is suitable for display or possibly wire wrapping. It is not a completely polished and stabilized gemstone.

It comes with a certificate of Authenticity

Ammolite is one of the rarest gemstones on Earth. It is found in one small 10 sq. km pocket of southern Alberta, Canada.

The Supplier warrants that they have obtained this lot in a legal manner. Acquired from the Korite Mine in Alberta, Canada. Export Permits issued from the Federal Government of Canada are supplied where needed.
