Hand painted hanging scroll by 'Mori Takamasa' 森高雅(ca.1790-1864) - "Samurai under Pine Tree" - Japan - Mid 19th century Late Edo Period w/box
Painted by Takamasa"高雅". Mori Takamasa' 森高雅(ca.1790-1864) was a Tosa school painter active in late Edo period. He learned various painting style. First, he learned Kano school style painting under Hurukawa Ikkei"古川一渓". Next learned Nanga style painting under Nakabayashi Chikudo"中林竹洞". After learned Ukiyo-e style painting under Maki Bokusen"牧墨僊". Finally, learned Tosa school painting under Tosa Mitsusada"土佐光貞".
