A wonderful, deep Chinese platter with a medallion at the centre, which contains a décor of a dragon who is chasing a flaming pearl which is rising from the sea. Wildly splashing water around it. High waves in the background. A carp is emerging from the water next to the dragon. Around it is a circle decoration and a broad blue border with white floral decorations on a coloured background. The reverse side is decorated with two stylised floral branches and a shop mark inside a double circle. The platter is supported by a high foot-rim, which features "café-au-lait glazing".
