This a handwoven kilim rug, made of durable, natural materials.
Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this carpet unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
Kilim rugs are woven in many countries and regions including Iran, Morocco and India, but also Tunisia.
Kilims often are made of high-quality wool on a cotton or wool warp (bobbin thread).
The patterns often are geometrical and angular in shape.
Every nomad tribe has its own distinctive patterns.
Kilims are used as carpets, tent cloths, sun roofs or rugs and are excellent rugs for regular use with a high durability.
This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
Main colour: Cream.
Shades of purple.
Rich abrash (natural colour variations); wonderful shine.
Signs of wear:
Fringe in somewhat lesser condition.
