Hand-embroidered silk damask liturgical vestment - late 19th century
Magnificent priestly liturgical vestment, consisting of a chasuble and a stole, both made black silk damask (a colour used during the Lent period), and both entirely trimmed with woven passementerie with gold filigree. The clothing is from the late 1800 and shows some signs of wear due to the use in the receptions and some small hole due to the moths, but only in the inner lining. The chasuble is 105 cm long and 66 cm wide, while the stole is 103 cm long.
