The era of the Pyu culture, 200–1000 A.D. - Lower Myanmar
The Tibetan-Burmese speaking Pyu people migrated from China to Burma in ca. the second century, and were the country's earliest recorded inhabitants.
Most of the pre-Pyu cultured flourished around the Samon valley in central Myanmar.
They founded the Pyu Kingdom which stayed powerful and influential for a millennium.
The Kingdom established important trade relations with the Chinese and the Indians, from which they adopted some practices such as Buddhism.
