Iconic Danish design
The Raadvad company has been famed for its production of high-quality knives, blades and kitchen implements since 1758. Their iconic bread slicer was produced in Denmark in its modern form from before the second-world-war, becoming a classic of Danish design. The bread slicer is no longer in production, but you now have the opportunity to own one of these fantastic machines. Although it can be used simply for decoration, at home, or in a shop, cafe or restaurant, for example as a book-rack, it is still fully functional. The guillotine blade is in good condition and can be used to slice breads, cheese, soap, fruits or flowers.
This cutter (model no. 294) is an early model, made from cast iron, steel and wood, according to the original design, and would have been was produced around the middle of the last century.
The machine is in fine condition considering its age. It has original cream paint with gold lettering. There is moderate patina reflecting its age (see photos). The approximate total dimensions are length 35cm x height 25cm x depth 25cm. It weighs a little over 3kg, just under 5kg packed.
