Hippolyte Moreau (1832- 1927) was the second son of the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Moreau He was trained in the workshop of his father
With his two brothers Mathurin and Auguste he moved to Paris to apprentice to François Jouffroy at the École des beaux-arts.
From 1863 to 1914 he exhibited at the famous salon where he submitted decorative subjects, largely inspired by the 18th century He won medals on the world exhibitions from 1878 and 1900 Most of his works are in the collection of the museum of fine Arts in Dijon (Ref. Wikipedia)
