Biography: Tjitske Geertruida Maria Van Hettinga Tromp
Geertruida Van Hettinga Tromp was a pupil of Hendrik Bremmer. She was also taught by, amongst others, J. Zandleven, D. Komter and H. van Daalhoff. From him, she learned the pointillist technique, which is characteristic of her work. She mainly painted still lifes, church interiors and subdued architectural views. Light plays a special role in her work. It is diffuse, sieved from character, the skies are covered thinly and heavy shadowing is nowhere to be seen. Museums: Centraal Museum in Utrecht and Rijksmuseum Kröller-Müller in Otterlo.
He work is also sold in many galleries and yield prices between €2,000 and €3,000.
