Description: A good sized moulded faience ushabti figure with a T bar hieroglyphic inscription giving the owner's name and titles. .

The Shawabti or Ushabti tomb figure appeared in the Middle Kingdom, often referred to as the Egyptian Renaissance. In the Old Kingdom, or Pyramid Age, the tomb walls were decorated with scenes depicting daily life for the tomb owner to enjoy in the afterlife. In the Middle Kingdom, tomb walls were not decorated. Instead wooden figures made from Persea or 'Shawab' wood were placed with the burial to work as servants for the deceased in the fields of the gods in the afterlife. Later on these worker figures were called 'Shabti's or 'answerers. These figures were inscribed with the full text of the Shabti Spell from the Egyptian Book of the Dead. "If x is called to carry sand from the East to the West... 'Here I am', you shall say".

After a long wait an earring arrived broken and the necklace seemed more important in photography. The ring is bronze or silver?
    I'm quite disappointed
