|Condition:||Very good with only slight signs of use|
In 1934 Walter Zapp of Reval (later Tallinn) constructed the prototype of the Minox spy camera. After two years of further preparation, the camera was finally born in 1936. This Minox with recording format 8 x 11 mm is also called the Riga Minox, after the city where it was produced.
The offered Riga set is very rare.
In the first place because of the virtually unused camera with serial number 15784. This dates from 1942 and is equipped with a 15 mm/f3.5 Minostigmat lens. The camera with stainless steel housing is technically perfect and shows - even after three quarters of a century and war years! - no wear.
Probably even rarer, however, is the limited series of the wooden shape made by Walter Zapp in 1994, which he developed in Reval in 1934. This series was released on the occasion of the 60-year anniversary of the German Minox Club. The item offered here with a certificate is number 273 of the total edition of just 300 pieces.
All in all, an extremely rare set that you will not see anytime soon in this condition.
