1948 AGI 'Agifold' Folding 6x6 Camera. The camera was manufactured in England by Aeronautical & General Instruments Ltd, Makers of optical instruments to the aircraft industry. This experience enabled them to not only build the Agifold camera, but provide the lens as well. The camera comes in good condition and with a detached linkage to the shutter although the shutter remains usable from the lens position and the linkake rod is still in position, with the possibility of repair. The camera itself has an uncoupled rangefinder, which gives readings and an extinction meter for calculating exposures. The bellows are opened by a novel method of sliding the viewfinder to one side. The 8-speed shutter works throughout the range and the focusable f4.5 90mm Agi lens appears clean. The camera used 120 size film, giving twelve 6cm x6cm exposures per roll. Also included is a durable canvas ever-ready type camera case. A seventy-year-old collectable.
