Bound in contemporary brown calf. A very good copy, but the front board is just starting to split along the top of the spine. Rubbing to edges. Small closed tear to front endpaper. Complete. Includes engraved frontispiece, and folding map: "Map of China with the Track of the Lion & Route of the Embassy". Some staining to title page. Bookplate pasted in to front is from Lieutenant General Sir Harry Calvert, 1st Baronet GCB GCH (March 1763 – 3 September 1826) a British general.
