Henri Cartier & D. Wronecki - New York Fernand Nathan, 1949 - First edition 1949 - 192 pages - 24.1 x 17.2 cm
In very good overall condition. Simply note a lack of a few millimetres at the top of the cover (visible in the photo) and tiny foxing on the cover (visible in the photo).
Great illustrated with 64 photographs, replicated in rotogravure, the master of the ‘decisive moment’ reproduced in heliogravures (the other photographs are of Daniel Wronecki and other photographers). The text of Daniel Wronecki is superbly illustrated by Henri Cartier-Bresson that captures the soul of this beautiful and dynamic city.
Photographs taken for the most part in 1947 during the stay of Henri Cartier-Bresson in New York for his exhibition at the MOMA. It was during this stay that Cartier-Bresson founded MAGNUM agency with Robert Capa, David "chim" Seymour, and George Rodger.
