This beautiful staff-officer's sabre from the Napoleonic period has a (partly gold plated) brass hilt with a black wooden handle, leather sheath with brass mounts and a slightly curved blade.
The blade is blued on both sides with gilded ornamental etchings (ca. 60% well preserved).
The condition is good (the blade is moderately mottled, the nozzle of the sheath is a replacement and the contact strip of the sheath is slightly damaged).
The leather of the sheath is old but restored and preserved.
Officer’s sabres from the Napoleonic period are sought after collectibles and also good investment pieces.
