In reasonably good functioning condition
The 'linen shortage' comes from Germany, manufactured by RHS Aalmangel.
Around 1900 the device was used for the smoothing of linen (linen).
This was done by pressing the linen between the two heavy parallel wooden rollers (so-called 'great Danes’,
which were wrapped with linen towels) of which at least one of the two was powered.
Because this was one of the first of its kind; it was still entirely powered manually.
The dimensions of this piece are: 137 x 102 x 165 cm.
This heavy, solid device is made from cast iron and wood.
The device was once, long ago, repaired on the upper side; just along the middle, above the springs. (see photo 2).
This lot can be picked up in Reuver (Central Limburg), Netherlands.
Shipping is obviously (in consultation) also always a possibility.
The shipping costs are at buyer’s expense.
