Fiat - Scoiattolo 26 Super - 1978

This is a Scoiattolo BMC from 1978, these were built in Riva del Garda, no more than 300 were built as far as we know, typically with a Fiat 500 or 126 engine, three were built with a flat Giardiniera engine, and as far as we know only two remain, one is still owned by the son of the factory’s owner (at the time they also converted the first Panda 4x4). This copy has a 6.5 Prinoth engine, these engines were built (mounted) per 2 in a snow vehicle. This car has handles on the doors, which is unique, an ammeter and a thermometer that were built in the factory, the original rims are at the car, but with narrower tires 145-70 12, along with the car, the following 5 original wheels with the original 165-12 Semperit tyres are included, the lid for the boot, a holder for the spare wheel at the rear, a complete and original Scoiattolo roof rack. This car was delivered with tripodal drive blocks at an additional cost, the car has 4 forward gears and an extra "primino" an extra short gear with which extreme slopes can be taken, as well as separately braked rear wheels (see photo), as well as the 4 x 4 option that can be turned on while driving. There is a complete archive in a bag with photos, newspaper clippings etcetera, copied from the original archive of the manufacturer, as well as original leaflets, stickers, business card, original instruction booklet, original letter that was included with the car when it was delivered, as well as other stuff. The car has a differential at the front and rear, disc brakes in the front, drum brakes in the rear. Despite the low top speed of 90 km/hour, this car can keep up with traffic, but is too slow for the motorway. I am at your disposal for information. The car is still used occasionally and can simply be driven. On request the manufacturer mounted an electric pump, whereby the car starts immediately, even after a long standstill. The car was appraised a few years ago at 17,000 euros, it presently has some rust on the rear, both left and right. The car is further equipped with a rudimentary immobiliser. Shipping can be arranged by mutual agreement, so that it can be done as cheaply as possible. I am at your disposal for any further information. A small soft top on top of the spare wheel is visible in the photo, this was usually used during the summer, the car features a roll bar of stainless steel, which is factory-built. The car is located in Brenzone del Garda, near Lake Garda, Italy and can be viewed by appointment.
