Jaeger-LeCoultre - Chronograph 18K Gold 1940's - Ref. 12393 - Men - 1901-1949
I am selling this Jaeger LeCoultre Chronograph men's watch with reference number 12393 that was probably made in the mid 40's. It has a 34,5mm 18 carat solid gold case and is on a leather bracelet that fits a 19,5 cm wrist. The watch contains a Jaeger branded Universal Genève 285 column wheel chronograph movement, the movement runs accurately and the chronograph complication starts and resets very smooth. Most Jaeger LeCoultre chronograph's from this period were sold in France and are branded Jaeger since Edmund Jaeger was of French origin and had better brand recognition.
A similar watch with the same dial is picture in the book "Jaeger LeCoultre" by Zaf Basha.
The watch has been worn but I would still estimate the overall cosmetic quality to be good, especially for the age. The watch comes delivered in a black leather box.
The watch will be sent using signed delivery. Please examine the photo's before bidding.
