Two Tibetan travel altars or Gau. 12 x 9 x 3½ cm in size. The front is elegantly decorated with signs and an animal's head. There are two small statues behind the glass. They are called tsatsa and are made of clay. Sometimes the clay is mixed with the ashes of a dead lama. Relics, such as bone fragments, hairs, fragments of clothes of dead teachers, parts of religious texts or medicinal herbs can be kept inside a gau.
