History:
The ‘Specialist Bicycle Development Unit’ (SBDU) was the elite unit of the English manufacturer Raleigh, intended to build the bikes for its cyclists, this unit only produced no more than 10,000 bikes in total since its creation in 1974 until its end at the beginning of the 1990s. This bike is number 9123, one of the last productions.
In 1989 Laurent FIGNON was in the Super U team - Raleigh - Fiat with his teammate Jacques DECRION, please note these initials engraved under the crankset (JD).

Horizontal tube from axis to axis: 56.5 cm.
Vertical tube from axis to axis: 55.5 cm.
