Photographic workshop founded in 1862 in Dornach by Adolphe Braun (1812-1877), and his son, Gaston Braun (1845-1928), both members of the French society of photography - In 1876 the ‘Adolphe Braun et Cie’ company was created and in 1899, the company changed name and became Braun, Clément & Cie. In 1910, the company is named Braun & Cie; It has a branch in New York and one in London - 14 rue Cadet, 75009 Paris (1868), 1 rue Auber, Paris (1871), 3 Bld des Capucines, Paris (1876).
The engraving is an acid etching in the case of a typographic print (embossed) or mechanical manufacturing in the case of heliographic printing (intaglio).
Heliogravure is also an old process providing a very high quality and rare for photographic art prints (also called the ‘grain heliogravure’ technique).
The heliogravure know-how is listed in the ‘Inventaire du patrimoine culturel immatériel’ (inventory of the intangible cultural heritage) in France. All bear the mention ‘Hel’. Braun Clément & Cie or Phot. Braun Clément & Cie (more rare).

In perfect condition except for 1 with some foxing.
Never framed, and hardly manipulated.
