Superb example of a rug from the area of Kuba (on the coast of the Caspian Sea) - with decorative 'Vurma' or 'sheep's horn' pattern set out in perpendicular and decorative open shapes along the central axis, alternating with light-coloured shield octagons and Karagashli flowers - very rare and very well preserved.
