Italy, 18th century
Haute Epoque pot or bucket in wrought iron, from a monastery where friars produced various homeopathic and traditional medicine products. This is part of other items in my possession. As you can see in the pictures, the item has a perfect patina of the time and inside it shows a lot of limescale caused by water boiling. The item is completely forged and hand-wrought. Perhaps the bronze lion mascarons were applied later, but I can be wrong. The ring at the top of the handle indicates how to use the pan, which is to be hung above a fireplace to boil food. Size: 29 x 21 cm approx.
