These straight swords with their cross-shaped handles are specific to the Tuaregs from the south of Algeria, the north of Niger and of Mali: every adult carries a Takouba from which he will never be separated. Many so-called ‘dances of the sabre’ choreographies are based on close combat simulations. Beautiful forging and tanning work. Materials: leather, brass for the handle and sheath; steel for the blade. The tip of the sheath is pierced. In its original condition Size: Length: 92 cm. Maximum width of the handle: 10 cm.
