A well detailed and large spelter/zamak sculpture of an Adonis with a nice patina attributed to French listed artist Louis Moreau (1855 -1919). This early 20th century statue titled "Retour de chasse" (Return from the hunt) figures an Adonis (“un éphèbe”) returning from the hunt. He holds a bow in his left hand and his prey (a deer) in his right hand. The statue stands on a wooden base where a metal plaque states “Retour de chasse - par Louis Moreau - Salon des Beaux-Arts 1909”.
The sculpture is in nice and complete condition and still has its original patina. No damage or restorations.
