Very good condition 24 Fl Oz (68cl)
Vintage 1935 / bottled 1965 cognac from "1er cru de cognac" or Grande Champagne vineyards, the heart of the cognac production offering the most complex flavours and greatest products as Louis XIII from Rémy Martin.
The bottle is in very good condition, good level, excellent tin sealing, label a bit stained but as the cognac was bottled in 1965 the bottle is over 50 years old.
Excellent birthday present for granddad!
The content must be "hors d'âge" as it has remained in barrels from the harvest (1935) to the bottling (1965) - 30 years - the colour is not very dark, but typical of Grande Champagne products.
Dolamore was an independant wine merchant, established 1842, but went bankrupt in the late 80's as many independant wine merchants in the UK.
They bought large quantities of cognac and port in barrels, and bottled the products in UK. Not sure if they bought "fresh" products or already aged stocks, but sure the barrels didn't reach UK between 1940 and 1945. My guess is early landing, before 1940, and aging was performed in UK, as the cognac stocks were plundered during WWII.
Some sediment on the bottom of bottle, very usual for natural products.
The bottle holds 24 fl oz (= 68cl) and the cognac is UK 66° proof = 37,7% Abv
Higth = 30.5 cm / weight = 1.28 kg
