Good condition overall
Very collectible bottle of Barriasson cognac, three star grade, bottle from around WWII
The glass is blue-green, looks very "handcrafted", the bottom of bottle holds the typical "ball", the seal is paper, with a "guarantee band" to prove it "unopened". All indications date this bottle back to the 1930's - late 1940's.
The content is three star grade, which could be well over the legal 3 years today, more likely 8 to 12 years back in the mid 20th century.
Barriasson was founded in 1850, and they were very active in the end of 19th century, they build the "Distillerie d’eau-de-vie de cognac Barriasson et Cie (Société des propriétaires)" in 1890, which still exists today, very nice buildings located 31, rue de Segonzac in Cognac.
In the beginning of 20th century they were exporting all over the world.
The company ceased activity in 1984.
Sealing is cork, only secured by paper strips marked "bande de garantie" and "N. Barriasson & Cie" but looks in good condition.
Level is quite good for a nearly 80 years old sealing. Cork is visible through the glass and at least 12-15mm are still solid and in contact with the glass neck of bottle. No leakage, guaranteed.
no indications of ABV (40%?) or volume - probably 70cl
No rear label
