* Sven Anders Hedin (Stockholm, 19 February 1865 — yonder,, 26 November 1952) was a Swedish explorer who made several journeys to Central Asia and Tibet. Hedin travelled to Tibet in 1906-1908. He visited various holy places, like the Tibetan monastery of the Ninth Panchen Lama, Tashilhunpo, Lake Manasarovar and the mountain Kailash. He mapped the area at the north of the Tsangpo river. This journey made the last large blank spots on the map of Tibet disappear. Source: Wikipedia.
