Unopened - 70cl 40% - excellent condition
Hennessy is the largest cognac "house" nowadays.
This bottle is a very collectible item, presentation inside a genuine wooden barrel with a craddle.
VSOP stands for Very Superior Old Pale, and was typically a blend of brandies of around 15 to 20 years age back in the 1950's-1960's.
Fine champagne stands for the blend of Grande and Petite Champagne, the heart of the cognac production, the 2 most reputated origins.
The barrel is made of massive oak and beech. The "iron bands" circling the barrels are just painted on, not real iron.
The inside of the lid of the barrel is stamped with the date of production of the barrel : October 24th, 1960.
The set is more a collector than for drinking, in my opinion, but bottle content is fully drinkable and will be at least equivalent to a XO or Hors d'âge today.
The bottle is the not the original one from this set, but 100% identical to the one which was sold inside back in the 60's.
Some oxydation and some dirt on the tin sealing, labels stained, but not leaking and good filling level still.
