A prime example of fine antique handmade wool and silk Persian Esfahan rug circa 1930 measuring 215cm x 155cm (7'x5'). The weave and colours pointed to the rugs made in the small town of Todeshk situated between Esfahan and Nain. The small town of Todeshk near central Iran produced some of the finest wool and silk rugs from the late part of the 19th up to mid 20th century. These rugs are normally very sought after due to their quality. The wool and silk foundation is very soft and the rug has defied age and remained in very good condition with the consistent pile.
This rug was exported from Iran before 2015.
